Would you vote for Sanusi Lamido as Nigeria's President?
• Honestly, since the banking reforms began, I have always wondered where the North hid people like Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. Not that I entirely agree with his methodology on cleaning up the banks (there could have been much less noise and more less resulting panic whilst achieving the same efficiency), his drive and determination to do what he feels is right is something that is rare these days in the Nigerian society.

Day after day, I always awaiting a news report telling us that he has sort of compromised on his hardline stance, but this dude just keeps churning out lists of bank debtors without casting a glance at the names contained within.

Honestly, in 2011, no southerner will become president given the present nature of things in our dear country. Hopefully, that sick tradition will be dead long before our generation gets to the helm of affairs, but before then, we'll have to choose a president from the North at the next elections. The choice is to stick with our "Servant Leader" (he's even forgotten that mantra since its not part of the seven point propaganda) for the next four years or put another Northerner who can handle to job better. I really will not want to see kindergatten-fit adults like Atiku and peeps like Buhari are not just it. We don't want vengeance-seeking people, we want problem-solvers. With the current you-ain't-ever-ever-gonna-get-a-passport-from-the-country-of-your-birth problem currently bedeviling Ribadu and El-Rufai, they are already out of the question.

We all know by now that when it comes to handling pressure and rooting corruption, Sanusi has already prooved his mettle. So, if miraculously he decides to contest as the president of our "in dire need of leadership rebranding" country called Nigeria, I'll vote for him and I'll influence other people to do so. But one last question bugs my mind, will my vote count?

So, let me know your opinion. Would you vote for the CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi if he decides to content as Nigeria's president?
• God forbid bad thing!! why would i want to vote for the man that almost destroyed my business? do you know how many companies are owing me money? their reason is Sanisi
• Abeg lets leave that for now, i think things will take place when the time for that comes.
• Just asking for an opinion. To be sincere, he wouldn't even come out for presidency. I just want to know how people feel about it. Its kind of an appraisal of him.
• we need to start a conmmitee contribution here.....abi drixie this one that alot of people are oweing adogain.....i hope she wont start asking for her share of the national cake before joing the defunct militants...... lets raise money for her now oh................sanusi my *&^%(*.
Na so we shout for soludo wey don dey play ludo with the money wey him theif then....oh He is doing a great job and we didnt see things from that angle..........everybody dey try to buy our face.......this is one of the reason why democracy in Nigeria is so weak....popularity always wins even though most of the voters are as dumb as the cows they slaughter....where is the EDUCATION to make democracy flourish...........chai...(i wasnt suppose to make that last statement their)
people; when someone new comes out, theres is always something that has been hiding that we couldnt see before......why not they do something we all really and truly know needs a drastic solution..........e.g the *economy as long as we keep importing we remain slaves to the sellers, see china...
*electricity as long as there is no stable electricity the economy can not produce anything of its own,
*education, you know how far democracy is still staggering,
*law and order, some people still remain untouchable,.... please am tired of complaining.....
when people start looking for how to solve problems, then we have a hero...........as for him being a president....let him chew my boot for that post.....i dont care any more.... i've got a future to preserve(naija watch out: am not a politician mind you)
.............peace am out.
• drixie you go like politics.....
• i aint voting for him PERIOD!!
• ...OK
• Actually, I will be venturing into politics in the future.

Its actually annoying that we always like to leave affairs of the state to mediocres because of the fear of getting our hands "dirty".
• is this actually the wrong thread?
• The topic was accidentally double posted. I have since merged it. Discussion continues.

@adogain
So, because it is affecting your business, the right thing should not be done. This bank issue actually hit me below the belt because right now, I don't have any entrepreneurial role model to emulate.
• you just found out that all of them na scammers..............yo! 9ja go beta
• Honestly, naija go better. If they don't fix it, our generation will and we will stick it in their faces. You know, that time, they will be walking around with sticks.
• i cant vote him cause he is not worth it.not that prof, cee cee had gotten a ticket for anabra state.he should focus on the bankig sector.do he kown anytin in politics.it is high time we NIGERIAN wake up from sleep.we try and call a spade a spade.not fixing a round peg in a square hole.

yes i will.
• Please do not insult the intelligence of Nigerians, Lamido for president ? is it "Lukuluku" the Local comedian in "sound of music",Garri is Mr Biggs, goat eating snake .All impossible act you can think in this world is the answer to your question .

Please do not post such again, i will even report you facebook post for propagating or attempt to propagate destruction, an irrational being in Boe tie and suit that has continually risk the lifes of thousand of Nigerian and those that survive with the help of them just for a few dishonest men like him in the society .

The party will soon be over and the tru effect of all the jumping up and down without much thinking is now being felt by all Nigerian mostly the uncorrupted who just earn a living that is been threaten today.

In a normal society people with such destructive ambition to kill destory will never get to the position of leadership.

Please remove this question now or replace with "How many Nigerian will like to see a replacement of the CBN governor" .
• Absolutely yes, i will vote for Lamido Sanusi as President of Nigeria.
• why not! infact this is d man good Nigerians shuld b looking forward for such post. If we actually want a revolutionary changes. Lamido Sanusi is d solution to Nigeria problems, Give him a trial, u shal b convince!
• no i can't vote for sanusi. what he did with the banking reforms was good but his approach was very bad he just raised the dust for nothing and created fear into people. Soludo that started the banking reforns where is he today spending the money he took(stole). I pray God delivers us in this country
• Vote Lamido as President???? for what now? Guys leave Soludo alone. Nigerians don't like procedure. Soludo is the best CBN Governor Nigeria ever heard. If you don't believe, you can as well hit your head on the nearest pillar.
• What has he done? This nomination is too early. Sanusi started on a very good note, but let him be aware that Nigerians expect more from him. He should sustain what he has started. For me, he will receive pass mark if the sack of the accused bank chiefs, reflects positively to the Nation's economy.
• I Will be honored to vote for Sanusi. Sanusi will sure be away from Obj and Umaru. Two men that have taken Nigeria so backward. Sanusi reforms in whatever form are courageous steps few Nigerians can take. He deserve our respect.
• THIS COUNTRY DON SPOIL, WETIN MAKE SANUSI QUALIFY TO BE PRESIDENT FOR THIS BLESSED NATION? NA BCOS AS USUAL EM CARRY HIM NORTHERN/ ISLAMIC BANKING AGENDA FOR HEAD? LOOK IF UNA NO GET BETTER TOPICS TO POST, OR ISSUES THAT WOULD FORSTER TRUE UNION IN THIS CONFUSION CALLED REPUBLIC, THEN CLOSE THIS YOUR COMMUNITY THIN. LOOK AT THE FUEL ISSUE, SO CALLED E- PAYMENT,COST OF LAND IN ABUJA, ETC AND LOOK AT ONE RESPONCE TO WHAT YU POSTED, WHERE ONE PERSON SAID, NO SOUTHERNER WILL RULE NIGERIA COME 2011. THESE ARE THE KIND OF FOOLISH STATEMENTS THAT DOES NOT MAKE FOR UNITY. THIS IS A MAN WHO BOASTED THAT THE NATIONAL FINANCIALOF NIGERIA HOB HAS NOW FINALLY MOVED TO KANO. AND NOW YOU ARE ASKING ME IF I WILL VOTE FOR HIM..........NO NO NO. ASK BUHARI WHY HE KEPT FAILING ELECTIONS, WITH HIS ISLAMIC PHILOSOPHY/AGENDA WHEN HE BOASTED THAT NO MUSLIM SHOULD VOTE FOR A CHRISTIAN. NOW SANUSI HAS SUCCEEDED IN BRINGING ISLAMIC BANKING CONFERENCE TO NIGERIA. DO THEY THINK WE ARE FOOLS? LET HIM GO AND CONTEST WITH ALHAJI SANNI ABACHA INTHEIR KANO STATE, WHOSE POSTERS ARE ALL OVER ABUJA RIGHT NOW.
• Concerning my statement that no Southerner will rule Nigeria in 2011, I know and accept that it was a foolish statement, but it is the simple truth.... until we are ready to do something about the issue.
• It's unfortunate that Sanusi Lamido is CBN Governor at this time in our ailing Nation's history. This man should have been CBN Governor in the stone ages. His crude approach has eroded consumer confidence, created unemployment and strongly hinders economic growth. If CBN policies defeat the economic targets craved by every country then what is the competence of the CBN Governor. If you keep asking this malu to look at the economy, he keeps looking at individuals. Is he a CBN Governor or an anti-graft governor. This annoying freak with all his inconsistencies has set us back almost 20 years and you are tauting with the idea of making him president. He will simply wake us up in the 18th century where he belongs. The CBN should be economic oriented which is absolutely what Lamido Sanusi is not.
• Look! Enuff of the long story, there is no way i would vote for him even if i was drunk. If Alamesian (Alam saga) was his opponent i would rather vote for him.

How does voting for SANUSI for president has to do with SOLUDO who covered crooks for four years?

Be careful, Iam a Xtian but do not believe in this your philosophy of religious politics. I believe many xtians shall not be so zealous about the religion of who leads us. Rememeber Pastor Aremu and what he did for 8years!
• No, I will not. Sanusi lamido is in the shade of overzealous public officers like Ribadu and El - Rufai. Their post leadership analysis is not very encouraging. Besides, votes dont count here. So, this question does not make sense. I thought we would have engaged in analysing the real import of his sanitation exercise.
• he is doing his best but no one no what is in his mind, but for now i believe he never deserve that .
• yes!I have once written a letter in his favour when he was in UBA and had an issue with the then state Governor....
His activities as CBN Governor could be termed revolutionaries. He looks genuine. He's a kind of change we require.A dogged and courageous man, clean and uncorrupted. He's an enlightened and very articulated man.A talakawa though of aristocratic background, with a sense of justice and compassion to the downtrodden....
Sanusi will get my vote anytime;he has won my heart!
• Sanusi Lamido truly deserves to be voted as Nigeria's president. He has really tried to sanitise the banking sector. I still respect him even with his flaws.
• if he has something good to offer, then he is the man. truth might be painfull but it is the best gift for mankind. i think i would vote for him only if he is ready to serve and not to dictate, ready to bring smiles on peaople's face.
• yes of cos i will 4sure vote 4 sanusi l if at all he will say he wnt to b our no1,
my reason a simple i am seeing smting cmg out from him,
• In our hurry to find a suitable president for our dear country, we need to differentiate between a technocrat and a plain professional, Sanusi is a good Risk Manager, and looking at our Risky political system he might have something to offer, but one act is not enough, except the North is looking for a replacement come 2011.
• Vote Lamido as President???? for what now? Guys leave Soludo alone. Nigerians don't like procedure. Soludo is the best CBN Governor Nigeria ever heard. If you don't believe, you can as well hit your head on the nearest pillar.

i totally agree with you
• I live in USA and have no clue about Sanusi Lamido, but my question is why another Mallam? Is Nigeria now bought over by the mallams and PDP? Anyway, we all know that there had not been any election in Nigeria, but selection. The evil legacy of olusegun obasanjo will keep hunting Nigerians, just like Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, until he dies. I am not going to vote for any mallam again, until Nigeria leadership recorgnizes that other tribe exist.

Nigeria is not being bought over by mallams but it is being bought over by the PDP. The issue at stake is just a sick tradition where the presidency and top posts within the country must be rotated between the North and the South.

Even if you do not vote for any mallam, the only thing that the Nigerian leadership recognizes is the money that will flow into their pockets.
• Hell no! infact I don't even intend voting sef cos it's getting absolutely useless. Aunty Dora Akinyuli was someone Nigerians would have readily voted for president but with her current position, she's become useless. A total puppet of the current administration. She's become kinda like a Media whore!

What is the assurance that Sanusi Lamido will maintain his integrity if he becomes President? My answer is None whatsoever. We might even be haeding for worse times with him as president.

Once bitten twice shy. The devil you know is better than the angel you think you know. Haven't we all learned that after Oga Abacha's demise?
• He he... Media whore.

On the other hand, can you please expatiate on what we have learned after Abacha's demise?
• When it comes to politics, I'm a total blonde hands down but what I know is that during Abacha's regime people weren't suffering as much as we are now and the guy was as shady as the bastards they have ruled after him. It was a matter of shut your mouth and act like you didn't see anything or you get killed. Chikena.
• People were not suffering as much as they are now.... because the repercussions of the Abacha regime did not happen during Abacha's regime, they happened after...

What we are feeling now are the repercussions of IBB, Abacha, OBJ's regime combined. We never start to dey feel Yar'Adua's own yet. This is just the beginning....
• Sanusi Lamido is just a pdp puppet to diistabilize the sponsors of other parties....i could be a conspiracy theorist at times, but in this case i'd like to assume the role of nostradamus, because i can see a trend,.... see what first bank did a week before he axed the first 5 banks, they declared all their bad loans and cleared them... you could say they had expo to lamido's exploits.... and unity bank (aka bank of the aboki's...lol...i formed that)... dont lemme get started on them.... if sanusi campaigns, i wont even bother voting... because in naija we dont know anybody's integrity, all we know is their party!

Howdy, Stranger!
