Can Nigeria develop without good education system?
  • I usually think big when it come to matters that concern nigerians and nigeria as a nation. I as person i believe in Nigeria and i am very proud to be a nigerian. So, therefore one need to say out all what borthers him/her about her.
I also danced to the tune of ''VISION 20 20'' , it is a great one but,how can this be achieved without given proper attention to the very thing that build a nation.
I wish Nigeria well but the discrimination between the BSC holder and HND holder need to be tackled once and for all. Even though its true that they are not having equal trainning in term of profession, the HND holder could be very good technical than there counterpart in the University. Then if it so, why can't we make sure that the system is well developed so as not to disturb one another professionally .And we should not forget that education in Nigeria UNI is nothing to write home a about.

  • Adusco,
How can u just make a conclusive statement dat UNI is notin 2 write home abt.
In as much as dis forum is open n freedom of speech is welcome,we shd nt just conclude wit our statements like dat.
Dis is a very good topic n i tink nigerians shd put head together n c dat sum tin good abt education is achieved.
  • i comment my reserve (the reverse is the case), until i have proper research... watch this spot for my post soon....
  • The answer to the question is very obvious! Let me ask you can d current President be on seat without being educated? No education, no Nigeria; No Nigeria, no Leaders; No Leaders, no Education!
Please note that and seriously ponder on it. Where can we be if we are not educated? I don't think I will be able to operate a computer now without being educated. Do you think you can even be on this site without understanding common GO AND COME, which some people in Nigeria don't even understand.
    TO THE YOUTHS:
What are you to do? The answer to the question is obviously with us; the Youths. Let's organize moderate campaigns on how Nigeria is going to develop by:
    (1) Pleading with the government to listen to the youths.
    (2) Shunning Cultism and all forms of school life atrocitire.
    (3) Praying for the government.
    (4) Facing our education squarely.
Whenever the government notices that Nigeria is always having her students as maybe having the best WAEC result, NECO result, you know something like that.
    To The Topic.
There is no way any nation can develop without Good Educational System, not even Nigeria! I just can't figure out or even imagine a bright future without Education. I really can't figure that out.
You know what, my school is more or else a Public School. I'm not ashamed to say that 'cos my school outstands all other Private schools in Abeokuta in terms of morals and education. But come, let's think of it, is there supposed to be A PRIVATE SCHOOL and A PUBLIC SCHOOL?
I really wonder why. Education teaches one morals, how to behave in the society, at home, outside the nation, just name anywhere, it gives us knowledge, I just can't say all 'cos the advantages are more than its disadvantages which includes THE NATION'S DEVELOPMENT. Therefore, I think our leaders should just try to amend the Education System with the help of the Youths(of cos) and I bet you NIGERIA WILL NEVER BE REFERED TO AS A DEVELOPING NATION, BUT AS A DEVELOPED NATION ONLY IF WE HAVE A GOOD EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM.[/u]
  • bravo!....."standing ovation*

    well said...thats my girl!
  • who is your girl? abeg i'm not your girl and remember to let me concenterate by writing good words 'cos i'll be resuming tomorrow. okay?
  • There can be no development without a functional and well funded educational system. The problem with the nigerian eductional system is that many a people have lost faith in the system.

If the government can dedicate more money into developing the standard of eductional and increase the pay the lecturers'; I would say that's a right step at the right direction <!-- s:!: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_exclaim.gif" alt=":!:" title="Exclamation" /><!-- s:!: -->
